Lockout/tagout temporary operation, operation repair, adjustment and maintenance procedures
When equipment under maintenance must be run or temporarily adjusted, authorized personnel may temporarily remove safety plates and locks if detailed precautions have been taken. Equipment can only operate if all locks are removed and all personnel working on the equipment are aware of the work to be done. When this temporary work is completed, the authorized employee will re-lockout /tagout according to the procedure.
Participate in LOTO/ leave LOTO program
1. During the maintenance process, the minor personnel should obtain the consent of the major personnel, hang the personal lock and personal card, and sign the check list for confirmation, and note the time of joining. This process also applies to those who participate in maintenance after leaving.
2. During the maintenance process, the minor should communicate with the major and unlock the personal locks before leaving. The major should note on the LOTO confirmation form.
3. During the maintenance process, the major must ensure that the main lock on the lock box is locked properly and the key is kept by the major all the time. If the major needs to participate in other maintenance tasks temporarily, he/she can take the personal lock away.
