Authorized personnel
Personnel appropriately trained and authorized to perform hazardous energy control (Lockout/tagout). Authorized personnel are those employees who have a part of their body that requires access to the hazardous energy zone in order to complete their work/task. It is the duty of the authorized personnel to inform those employees who perform routine operations on the equipment and those who are in the vicinity of the equipment when it is necessary to Lockout/tagout the equipment to be informed when the equipment can be resumed.

Operators of equipment maintained or maintained according to Lockout/ Tagout schemes, or persons working in areas where such maintenance or maintenance is performed.
