OSHA regulations:
The employer must establish energy control safety procedures
To stop a machine or equipment by program
Install the appropriate Lockout tagout device in the energy isolation unit and verify that the isolation is effective
Prevents accidental energy supply, activation or release of stored energy to prevent injury to employees
Employers must train employees to ensure that they understand the purpose, function, knowledge and skills of energy control safety procedures

To whom does this standard apply?
Approved person: trained to Lockout/tagout maintenance personnel.
To be able to identify dangerous energy sources and type characteristics of machinery and equipment, know how to isolate and control
Affected person: refers to the operator on the machine and equipment with Lockout/tagout set and the operator on the machine and equipment nearby.
Be aware of the purpose and use of energy control safety procedures. Make it clear that unauthorized persons cannot operate.
Other personnel: refers to the personnel who may pass through the repair and maintenance operation area.
To be aware of the power control procedure, do not enable or restore power sources that have been Lockout/tagout executed.
