Check regularly
Check/audit the isolation location at least once a year and keep a written record for at least 3 years;
The inspection/audit shall be performed by an authorized independent person, not the person performing the quarantine or the relevant person being inspected;
The inspection/audit must include a review of the compliance of the quarantined persons with their duties under the procedures;
Inspection/audit records must specify basic information such as quarantine object, inspection person, inspection date and time;

Assess whether equipment can be lockout and tagout (LOTO)
Ensure that the device can be locked and that all lock-up locations for the device are identified.
Note:
Making the device itself lockable is more effective than adopting additional locking devices.
Locking only the start button, emergency stop button (ESD) or other control unit (PLC) is not reliable. Power to the device is turned off and locked to ensure reliable energy isolation.
Adapting existing equipment so that it can be locked would make the job easier. For example, some electrical isolation may not be performed by a professional electrician, but can be performed by a trained operator.
It is a good practice to post instructions and drawings of lockout tag on the equipment site.
