If isolation is required, the isolator/authorized electrician shall, upon completion of each isolation, fill in the isolation certificate with the details of the isolation, including the date and time of its implementation, and sign in the corresponding “Implementation” column.
This isolation certificate must be cross-referenced with the original operating licence and subsequent licences using the same isolation.
All quarantine certificates shall be registered in the register of quarantine certificates kept by the licenser in the control room.

The issue of a quarantine certificate is an essential step in the work permit process as described in the work permit process.
A quarantine permit is prepared prior to the issue of the permit and remains in effect until the permit is signed and cancelled. The quarantine certificate shall be cancelled only after the issuer of the permit has signed the “Cancellation” column of the quarantine certificate.
When isolation is required, the licensor, isolator and authorized electrician must have a full understanding of the equipment, devices and systems to be operated on and the scope of operations under the control of each operation permit.

Isolation points must be identified on the process flow chart and verified on site to ensure accurate identification of isolation points.
When all quarantines have been carried out, the permit issuer shall duly write the date and time in the “Issued” column of the quarantine certificate and sign his/her name. The permit issuer shall fill in the isolation certificate number on the work permit, tick the “valid” section of the “Prepared” section of the work permit and sign his/her name.
All quarantine certificates shall be posted in the central control room for easy inspection by the permit issuer.
